Castle of Queen Cornaro

Located in the heart of the historic center, this castle was once the residence of Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus. Today, it houses the Eleonora Duse Theater and the Civic Museum, where you can admire archaeological finds, paintings, and historical documents related to the town.

The Historic Center

Strolling through the cobbled streets of the historic center is an unforgettable experience. Admire the historic buildings, picturesque squares, and ancient fountains. Don’t miss the Fontana Maggiore, one of the symbols of the town.

Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta

This cathedral, with its neoclassical façade, holds valuable artworks, including an altarpiece by Lorenzo Lotto.

The Gothic House and Roman Baths

While exploring the old town, you’ll come across the Gothic House, a building with captivating architecture. In addition, in the underground areas of Asolo, you can find the remains of the ancient Roman aqueduct “La Bot,” which can be visited through guided tours organized by the Civic Museum.

Church of Santa Caterina and Its History

The Church of Santa Caterina, built in 1346 by the Confraternity of the Battuti, is another gem worth discovering. Inside, 15th-century frescoes depict scenes from the life of Christ and Saint Catherine of Alexandria, making it a true treasure trove of art.

Church of San Gottardo

Also known as the Church of Sant’Angelo, San Gottardo has been documented since 1254. The church is famous for its bell tower with pointed-arch windows and for the annual festival held every May.
